The American leader made it clear that «the United States recognizes Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara» and views the Moroccan autonomy plan as «serious, credible, and realistic—the only viable foundation for a fair and enduring solution.» Any alternative approach, he warned, would merely perpetuate an unacceptable status quo, stressing that «this dispute must conclude now, and the US will continue driving progress toward that end.»
Beyond the geopolitical declaration, Trump’s message celebrated the «250-year history of friendship between our nations,» built on mutual trust and respect. He praised King Mohammed VI’s «wise leadership,» describing him as a «pillar of stability» whose vision has bolstered regional peace, combated extremism, and strengthened security ties—particularly through the Abraham Accords.
The US President also highlighted plans for deeper collaboration «to safeguard security across the Sahel,» signaling a renewed commitment to countering shared threats in the region.
