Senator Sama Lukonde endorses Tshisekedi’s push for referendum law and national dialogue
The President of the Senate and moral authority of the political coalition “Agissons et Bâtissons” (AB), Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, hosted a high-level meeting at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Bandal on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The gathering brought together members of the Presidium, national deputies, senators, party secretaries-general, and executive secretaries from the coalition.
The evening, held at the close of an extraordinary parliamentary session and ahead of the summer recess, focused on two critical topics: assessing the coalition’s progress and addressing pressing national issues, particularly the referendum law and the ongoing national dialogue.
Following extensive deliberations, the AB coalition reaffirmed its commitment to internal cohesion—both within its elected officials and leadership, as well as between its members in government and the broader coalition. Crucially, the group decided to fully support President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi’s efforts to advance the referendum law and facilitate constructive dialogue across the nation.
This unified stance underscores AB’s alignment with the President’s vision for constitutional reform and inclusive national discussions, reinforcing the coalition’s role in shaping the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s political trajectory.
