Abdourahmane Diouf alleges Ousmane Sonko sought additional political funds

Ousmane Sonko réclamait plus de fonds politiques, selon Dr Abdourahmane Diouf

Dr. Abdourahmane Diouf has brought to light an intriguing claim: Ousmane Sonko reportedly sought an additional allocation after depleting his political funds. This revelation introduces a significant point of contention into Senegal’s political discourse, raising questions about the source of such sensitive information.

The ongoing political sparring between the Pastef party and Kiiraay shows no signs of abating. With no clear resolution in sight, both factions continue to exchange accusations and disclose information they possess—or believe they possess—about the other.

In the latest development, Abdourahmane Diouf, currently serving as the Minister of Petroleum and Energy, made striking statements during an interview on RS1, hosted by Migui Marième Ndiaye. Diouf addressed the issue of the 1.77 billion CFA francs in secret funds that Ousmane Sonko managed while at the Primature. However, his remarks extended beyond merely confirming the existence of these funds.

Diouf explicitly asserted that after exhausting the initial sum allocated for his political activities, Ousmane Sonko subsequently requested an increase in these funds. A crucial detail remains unconfirmed: whether this request was ultimately granted. Furthermore, the origin of such a highly confidential piece of information—assuming its veracity—remains a mystery, as only two individuals would theoretically have access to it: the President of the Republic and the Minister of Budget.
