Morocco unequivocally reaffirmed its dedication this Wednesday before the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (AU PSC), stressing the critical need to bolster safeguards for children impacted by armed conflicts. The nation’s representatives particularly highlighted strategies focused on preventing their recruitment, ensuring their safety, and facilitating their sustainable reintegration into society.
During a pivotal AU PSC session centered on the “protection of child soldiers in Africa,” the Moroccan delegation underscored that children continue to bear the brunt of ongoing conflicts across the continent. They are frequently subjected to forced recruitment, widespread violence, and educational disruption, all of which severely jeopardize their long-term prospects and future.
