World Vision Tchad’s 2030 Vision: Empowering Millions of Children
N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking 2026-2030 national strategy, setting an ambitious goal to improve the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The initiative, launched during a high-level press conference in N’Djamena on July 9, 2026, brings together government officials, development partners, and media stakeholders to outline a holistic approach to child welfare.
The strategy targets 3.09 million of the most vulnerable children, addressing critical sectors such as health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. This marks a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to sustainable development.
Uniting Humanitarian Action, Development, and Peace
Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, highlighted the organization’s innovative “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus” approach. Speaking from Dakar, she described the strategy as bold, forward-thinking, and rooted in community engagement. “Children in Chad deserve more than survival—they deserve the chance to thrive,” she stated. “This plan is built on strong partnerships, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to lasting change.”
The strategy aligns with Chad’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), focusing on human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, and inclusive education through initiatives like Unlock Literacy.
Addressing Chad’s Most Pressing Challenges
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a historic milestone. He noted that nearly 42% of Chad’s population lives below the poverty line, worsening malnutrition and humanitarian crises. “This strategy is our roadmap to turning these challenges into opportunities,” he said. “We’re not just aiming to meet basic needs—we’re investing in the future of Chad’s children.”
The plan prioritizes integrated health and nutrition programs, maternal and child health, literacy development, child safety, and community resilience against climate impacts. It also calls for collective action from government agencies, financial partners, civil society, religious leaders, and media to ensure its success.

At the event’s conclusion, World Vision Tchad urged all stakeholders to collaborate in transforming Chad’s future. “No single organization can achieve this alone,” said the leadership team. “By working together, we can build a nation where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.”
The strategy reflects a deep understanding of Chad’s cultural and spiritual context, ensuring interventions are both impactful and sustainable. As the organization embarks on this ambitious journey, the focus remains clear: a brighter, more equitable future for all children in Chad.
