N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has officially unveiled its 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to transforming the lives of children across the country. The launch event, held at a N’Djamena hotel, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and government officials to discuss the roadmap’s vision.

The initiative targets 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable, through expanded programs in health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. At the launch, the Regional Director for World Vision West Africa, based in Dakar, described the strategy as “groundbreaking and transformative”.

Carla Dominique Denizard emphasized the strategy’s foundation: the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus. This approach bridges emergency relief with sustainable development and peace efforts, ensuring that interventions address both immediate crises and long-term stability. “Every child in Chad deserves to thrive, not just survive,” she stated, highlighting the need for strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration to achieve these goals.

The strategy aligns with continental and global agendas, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). It prioritizes human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, education through the Unlock Literacy program, and child safeguarding.

World Vision Tchad’s National Director, Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, called the launch “historic”, noting a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous plans. “Our vision is clear: every child in Chad must not only survive but flourish,” he declared. He also underscored the country’s persistent challenges—endemic poverty, malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and climate shocks—which affect nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line.

The strategy’s key pillars include:

• Integrated health and nutrition programs, with a focus on maternal and child health
• Unlock Literacy initiative to enhance early childhood reading skills
• Child protection measures against violence and exploitation
• Community resilience-building to address climate change impacts

Closing the event, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a call to action for all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society, religious and community leaders, and the media to collaborate in turning these ambitions into reality. “Collective mobilization is the only way to convert today’s challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chad’s children,” they affirmed. Through this strategy, World Vision Tchad aims to contribute directly to the country’s Vision 2030 and the broader SDGs, ensuring a future where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered.
