N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad officially inaugurated its national strategy for 2026-2030 this Thursday. The launch event, held on July 9, 2026, at the Hôtel Résidence in N’Djamena, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. This new roadmap sets an ambitious target: to significantly improve the lives of 3.29 million children across Tchad by 2030, with a particular focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. The comprehensive plan includes enhanced interventions in critical areas such as health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, described the new strategy as both « audacious and innovative » during her address. She elaborated that the strategy is built upon the « Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus » approach, designed to integrate urgent humanitarian responses with long-term sustainable development initiatives and peacebuilding efforts. Denizard emphasized that Tchad’s children deserve a life of abundance, a vision she believes is attainable through robust partnerships, strong community mobilization, and the thoughtful integration of local cultural and spiritual realities.

Continuing her remarks, Carla Dominique Denizard reiterated World Vision’s overarching vision for West and Central Africa: to ensure that every child, especially those in the most fragile contexts, not only survives but also thrives fully. She highlighted the persistent formidable challenges facing the region, including widespread insecurity, multidimensional poverty, the escalating effects of climate change, and significant population displacement. In response to these complex issues, World Vision has deliberately chosen an integrated methodology that seamlessly combines humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peace consolidation.

The World Vision Tchad strategy is meticulously aligned with major continental and international frameworks. These include the African Union’s Agenda 2063, several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s own Vision 2030. Key priorities within the strategy encompass strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection mechanisms, fostering adaptation to climate change, elevating educational standards through the innovative Unlock Literacy program, and ensuring comprehensive child protection.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director for World Vision Tchad, characterized the launch as a « historic moment » for both the organization and the future welfare of Tchad’s children. He revealed that this new strategic framework represents a substantial 20% increase in the organization’s ambitions compared to its previous strategic cycle. Ngoy Wangoy articulated their straightforward yet bold goal: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, specifically targeting 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. « We aspire for every child in Tchad to not only survive but to truly flourish, » he affirmed.

The National Director also underscored the myriad challenges that continue to confront Tchad, notably persistent poverty, chronic malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the severe repercussions of climate change. Data presented by World Vision indicates that nearly 42% of the Tchadien population lives below the poverty line, a statistic that underscores the urgent necessity for intensified actions benefiting the most vulnerable communities.

He further detailed that the 2026-2030 strategy is structured around several critical priority areas. These include bolstering integrated nutrition and health services, with a specific emphasis on maternal and child health; significantly improving education through the Unlock Literacy program, designed to cultivate early reading skills; safeguarding children from all forms of violence; and enhancing the resilience of communities in the face of climate change impacts.

Following the comprehensive presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership extended a collective appeal to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to unite their efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this ambitious strategy. The organization believes that collective mobilization is absolutely essential to transform current challenges into sustainable opportunities for the benefit of Tchadien children.
