Among the targets was Julian Alvarez, the Atlético de Madrid striker who is currently playing in the 2026 World Cup with Argentina. However, the Parisian side has reportedly cooled its pursuit.
“PSG tried” for Julian Alvarez
Two clubs tried to enter the race for Julian Alvarez, testing whether the impasse between Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona could open the door to new possibilities. The first was PSG, which already has contact with Atlético regarding two players: Kang-In Lee and Gonçalo Ramos, both expected to leave this summer. Arsenal also attempted to make contact with Atlético de Madrid and the Julian Alvarez camp, but received the same answer as PSG.
