The newly appointed head of the Clarification and Restoration Commission, established by Maurice Kamto, spoke on the programme “Entretien avec” on STV.
Pierre Emmanuel Binyam addressed Maurice Kamto’s resignation from the party to join Manidem and gain endorsement as a candidate for the 2026 presidential election. Unfortunately, that candidacy was rejected.
“President Maurice Kamto’s resignation from the party was not a resignation in the sense of turning his back on the party. We sent him to carry out a mission. Now, after what happened, he has returned. We asked him to come back and finish his term,” Binyam explained.
This member of the Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon (MRC) stated that Kamto’s elimination was a genuine ordeal for party members.
“The rejection of Maurice Kamto’s candidacy left a deep mark on us. We were profoundly affected by the elimination of our candidate in this election, especially since all polls showed him as the clear winner, both nationally and internationally,” Binyam added.
