As of 20 June 2026, the most notable advance on the project is the near-completion of the bridge supports. Teams from CHINA HARBOUR ENGINEERING COMPANY CAMEROUN are redoubling their efforts to finish building the structure.

Alongside this achievement, additional geotechnical studies are underway, while detailed design work has reached 60% completion. All 20 piles are finished, and the contractor has started work on the access road on the Bissombo side, including reinforcement of the culvert headwalls at PK 0+669, placement of replacement material after excavation at the PK 0+818 culvert, and crushing of 0/250 aggregate.

The project involves constructing a 90-metre-long bridge and 3 kilometres of access roads. Its completion will help structure the Assok-to-Ngombo axis in the Déjà et Lobo department, southern region. The total estimated cost of the works on the Dja bridge is 10,530,686,344 FCFA including tax.

In addition to the bridge, the access roads will be developed over 1,000 metres (500 metres on each side) with a two-lane carriageway 7.00 metres wide and 1.50-metre shoulders surfaced with a double-layer surface dressing. The project will also build drainage structures: two 2.00 x 1.50 culverts, two 2.00 x 2.00 culverts, and an access dyke on the banks.
