Niamey, July 27, 2026 – High-level discussions among leaders of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) are actively continuing in Niamey. These critical consultations are taking place amidst celebrations marking the third anniversary of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland’s (CNSP) ascension to power. On Monday, Major General Mohamed Toumba, Niger’s Minister of State, Minister of Interior, Public Security, and Territorial Administration, hosted Bassolma Bazié, who chairs the Burkinabè National Commission of the AES Confederation, for an important audience.
Mr. Bazié, currently in Niger’s capital to participate in the commemorative events, made an official visit to the Ministry of Interior. This meeting provided a crucial platform for both prominent figures to delve into the pressing issues currently mobilizing the member states of the AES Confederation.
