Senegalese politician Mor Tallah Gueye has stepped down as President of the FDCUIC, following in the footsteps of other high-ranking officials who have defected to support Ousmane Sonko’s regime.
Gueye cited his commitment to the values and principles that drive Sonko’s movement as the reason for his departure from the organization.
With this latest defection, tensions between Sonko’s faction and loyalists of former Prime Minister Abdoulaye Wade continue to escalate, highlighting the deepening rift within Senegal’s ruling elite.
