Renowned Italian football journalist Roberto Pruzzo has criticized the handling of Greenwood’s transfer, stating, “This type of negotiation never ends well. There’s uncertainty over whether the player genuinely wants to join Roma, and in the end, he ends up at Fenerbahçe. It’s rare to hear someone say, ‘This is the player I want,’ only to finalize the deal two hours later.” His remarks were echoed by colleague Fernando Orsi, who questioned Greenwood’s professionalism, adding, “Football doesn’t hinge on Greenwood. Paolo Marcacci, another Italian football analyst, has already proposed Roma’s potential Plan B—a strategy that aligns with Gasperini’s tactical preferences. “Moreira is a world-class player whose profile fits Gasperini’s system perfectly. His stock has risen since the World Cup, but so have Nusa’s, Garnacho’s, and others. Then there’s Tresoldi, who delivered an impressive league campaign.
