The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) reported on Thursday that a coordinated military operation, conducted alongside allied partners, resulted in the elimination of approximately one hundred armed fighters in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat.
Destruction of militant infrastructure and resources
In a detailed statement, the army outlined that the operation specifically targeted members of the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). Thirteen precision airstrikes were executed, leading to the destruction of six armored combat vehicles along with a utility pickup truck. These strikes were part of a broader military campaign aimed at dismantling armed factions operating across multiple regions.

The Wagner Group, also known as the Africa Corps, released a statement on X confirming the success of the operation. They highlighted the destruction of a significant number of militant vehicles, including the targeting of another vehicle transporting ammunition and military supplies by one of their drones. The group described the operation as a successful joint mission and pledged to continue targeting militant positions and equipment in the region.
