The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) reported Thursday that coordinated military operations in the Anfif and Tabrachat regions, conducted with allied partners, resulted in the elimination of approximately one hundred armed individuals.

According to an official statement, the targeted groups included members of the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azavad Liberation Front (FLA). The operation involved 13 airstrikes that also destroyed six armored vehicles and a pickup truck.

The military emphasized that these operations took place on Tuesday and are part of an ongoing campaign against armed factions in multiple regions of the country. It reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these efforts with discipline and resolve, in close collaboration with its partners.

Russian Africa Corps reports additional successes

The Russian Africa Corps, which participated in the operation, confirmed in a statement on X that the strikes led to the destruction and burning of numerous militant vehicles. The Corps also disclosed that one of its drones successfully targeted a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment.

The Russian Africa Corps described the joint efforts with FAMA as highly effective, stating they would persist in striking militant positions and assets. The statement highlighted the continued cooperation between the two forces in combating armed groups across the Sahel region.
