Malian army reports significant casualties among armed factions in targeted strikes
The Armed Forces of Mali (FAMA) revealed on Thursday that coordinated military operations in northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of nearly a hundred armed combatants. These operations, conducted with allied support, targeted members of the Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) and the Front de Libération de l’Azawad (FLA).
According to an official statement, thirteen precision airstrikes were executed, leading to the destruction of six armored vehicles and a pickup truck. The military emphasized that these actions are part of an ongoing nationwide campaign against armed groups, reaffirming their commitment to conducting operations with discipline and resolve in collaboration with their partners.
In a separate announcement on the platform formerly known as Twitter, the Africa Corps reported additional successes. Their forces neutralized multiple militant vehicles by fire and destruction, while an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) successfully targeted a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment.
The Africa Corps described these efforts as highly effective joint operations alongside Malian troops against regional armed factions. They reiterated their ongoing commitment to dismantling militant positions and seizing their resources.
