In a formal ceremony held in Owendo, Ludovic Megne Ndong officially assumed his position as the new president of the Railway Transport Regulatory Authority (ARTF). He takes over the leadership of the institution from François Banga Eboumi, marking a significant transition for the sector.

Strategic goals for the Transgabonais network

The former Minister of Housing now leads the Regulatory Council with a clear mandate: to implement the fresh strategic directions established for the organization. Ludovic Megne Ndong has voiced his commitment to strictly applying the recent ordinance designed to restructure the operations of the ARTF.

Beyond administrative shifts, the new president aims to foster a more collaborative environment. He plans to strengthen dialogue with both social partners and the institution’s personnel to enhance overall efficiency and improve the daily working environment for all teams.

Resuming inspections and sector reforms

One of the most pressing items on the new leadership’s agenda involves the redeployment of monitoring units. This initiative includes the resumption of rigorous inspections along the vital Transgabonais railway corridor, which connects Owendo to Franceville. These measures are intended to ensure the safety and reliability of the rail infrastructure.

The handover event was attended by François Ndong Obiang, the Minister of Reform and Relations with Institutions, as well as Adrien Moukabi, the Executive Secretary of the ARTF. This change in leadership arrives at a pivotal moment, as the national railway industry undergoes a series of deep structural reforms aimed at modernization.
