Côte d’Ivoire rallies global investors to fuel economic growth with 2026 development plan

Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé inaugurated the second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, bringing together over 700 investors to accelerate Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation.

Abidjan’s Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire hosted the pivotal second session of the PND 2026-2030 Consultative Group on July 9, 2026, under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. The high-profile gathering was designed to strengthen ties with private sector leaders and secure critical investments for the country’s ambitious development roadmap.

During his address, the Prime Minister framed the event as a milestone in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic journey, emphasizing the urgent need to unlock private capital to drive the next phase of growth. « This session marks a decisive step in our collective effort to harness private investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation to propel Côte d’Ivoire forward, » he stated. The Prime Minister proudly highlighted the participation of over 700 investors from allied nations, all converging to explore new opportunities in the country’s most promising sectors.

The gathering brought together top executives, entrepreneurs, and private sector representatives who traveled to Abidjan to engage directly with policymakers. In his remarks, the Head of Government underscored the event’s dual purpose: fostering a collaborative dialogue with the private sector and aligning everyone behind a shared vision of sustainable, inclusive development.

« Your presence here today reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and its bright future, » he told the assembled investors. « You are not just observers—you are essential partners in turning our vision into reality. By investing in our future, you are helping build a more competitive, job-creating economy that benefits all Ivorians. »

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He pointed to the country’s proven resilience and adaptability, citing a steady average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a performance that has solidified Côte d’Ivoire’s reputation as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

« To investors, this is a market brimming with potential, » he declared. « Today’s discussions will unlock faster investments in key PND 2026-2030 priority areas—such as industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, and the expansion of critical infrastructure in transport, digital technology, and logistics. These investments will enhance our competitiveness while also strengthening the foundations of a more productive, inclusive economy. »

He also stressed the importance of investing in human capital, innovation, and essential services as pillars of a modern, forward-looking economy.

Highlighting the scale of the initiative, the Prime Minister noted that the first day of the Consultative Group, focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries—including Côte d’Ivoire itself.

Leaders from major business confederations echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Speaking on behalf of investors, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi, President of the Africa Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), all reaffirmed their strong support for the government’s vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to help implement the PND 2026-2030, signaling a new chapter of robust public-private collaboration in Côte d’Ivoire.
