The FC Nantes has issued a strongly worded statement condemning the pitch invasion and surrounding incidents during the abandoned match against Toulouse. The club emphasized that such behavior contradicts its core values and identity.

In an official statement released the day after the match, FC Nantes expressed its utmost condemnation of the events that unfolded at the Stade de la Beaujoire. The club acknowledged the frustration and distress of supporters following a challenging season and relegation, but firmly stated that such actions cannot be justified.

« While we understand the emotions running high after such a difficult season and relegation, the values of FC Nantes, its history, and identity cannot be compromised by these acts. Anger and disappointment do not excuse masked individuals storming the pitch, creating an intimidating and tense atmosphere. A football stadium must remain a place of celebration, inclusivity, and safety for everyone.»

Club calls for unity, calm, and respect

The club extended its gratitude to the numerous supporters who remained calm despite the circumstances, as well as the security teams and authorities present throughout the evening. FC Nantes reaffirmed its commitment to full cooperation with authorities, the Ligue Professionnelle de Football (LFP), and state services to ensure transparency and accountability.

The statement concluded with a call for «unity, calm, and respect» to prepare for the upcoming season under the best possible conditions.
