June 28, 2026

Inaugurated on Friday, 26 June 2026, under the patronage of the Minister of Trade and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Cameroonian entrepreneur Lisette Claudia Tame officially opened a major agri-food factory named Denky in Badenkop, Bangou subdivision (Hauts-Plateaux Department, West Region) on 26 June 2026. The project aligns directly with Cameroon’s import-substitution policy and the objectives of the SND30 strategy.

Driven by Meta Invest, this initiative marks a decisive step in the local transformation of agricultural produce. The inauguration was attended by two government members—Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Trade, and Gabriel Mbairobe, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. BGFIBank Cameroun provided financing and support for the infrastructure. This is the third factory established by the young entrepreneur across the country in less than two years.

According to Lisette Claudia Tame, the Denky facility specialises in processing maize, sugar, plantain and potatoes. The venture aims to create jobs, curb rural exodus, add value to national agricultural output, and help meet SND30 goals. It represents a new chapter in promoting local processing for development.

The plant has an annual processing capacity estimated between 5,200 and over 6,000 tonnes of local agricultural products. Built on a three-hectare site granted by the state, the industrial unit is expected to generate between 350 and more than 550 direct jobs, thereby slowing rural migration.
