The 2026-2027 coffee and cocoa campaign in Côte d’Ivoire is set to commence officially on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. This launch coincides with the 10th anniversary edition of the National Cocoa and Chocolate Days (JNCC), an important event taking place at the Abidjan Exhibition Park, where crucial farm-gate prices will be revealed.

These anticipated new prices are expected to be announced by Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, acting on behalf of President Alassane Ouattara.

Looking back at the main campaign for 2025-2026, which spanned from October 2025 to February 2026, the farm-gate price reached an unprecedented 2,800 FCFA per kilogram. However, for the subsequent intermediate campaign, running from March to August 2026, this price saw a reduction to 1,200 FCFA per kilogram, a direct consequence of declining international cocoa market rates.

Côte d’Ivoire firmly maintains its position as the world’s leading cocoa producer, contributing approximately 40% to the total global supply.

National cocoa production for the 2025-2026 campaign was estimated at nearly 2.2 million tonnes. This period was notably characterized by significant volatility in exports and a governmental intervention involving the repurchase of approximately 123,000 tonnes of residual beans, amidst a temporary slowdown in global market commercialization.

For the upcoming 2026-2027 campaign, production forecasts indicate potential challenges. Factors such as adverse climatic conditions and the aging of cocoa orchards could impact output. Some market projections suggest a potential decrease in Ivorian production, possibly settling around 1.8 million tonnes.

Scheduled from September 1st to 3rd, the 10th JNCC edition represents a pivotal gathering for the entire coffee and cocoa value chain. It provides a dedicated forum for dialogue, recognizing successful initiatives, and strengthening collaboration among institutional, economic, and professional stakeholders.

This milestone anniversary edition is poised to mark a new chapter in the history of the JNCC, featuring various engagements, knowledge sharing, promotion of local expertise, and facilitating connections among all participants in the sector.

The comprehensive program includes conferences, expert panels, exhibition spaces, business-to-business meetings, and networking sessions. These activities are designed with the overarching goal of reinforcing the JNCC’s role as a premier platform for fostering dialogue, innovation, cooperation, and the sustained development of the industry.

Furthermore, the 10th edition will serve as an opportune moment to review achievements from previous events, highlight recent progress, and explore new avenues for enhancing the sustainable development and global competitiveness of Côte d’Ivoire’s vital coffee and cocoa sector.
