World Vision Tchad has rolled out its ambitious 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant step forward in transforming the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The initiative, unveiled during a high-profile press conference in N’Djamena, brings together key stakeholders including government officials, technical partners, financial backers, and media representatives.

At the core of this strategy lies a holistic framework designed to address the most pressing needs of children, with a special focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. The plan integrates four critical pillars: health and nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. This multi-faceted approach aims to create sustainable improvements in living conditions while fostering long-term stability.
Carla Dominique Denizard, Regional Director for West Africa, emphasized the groundbreaking nature of the strategy during her keynote address. She described it as a transformative roadmap built on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus model, which bridges emergency response with sustainable development and peace-building efforts. « Children in Chad deserve more than survival—they deserve thriving lives, » she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration in achieving these goals.
aligning with continental and global priorities
The strategy doesn’t operate in isolation. It is meticulously aligned with continental and international frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s own Vision 2030. Key focus areas include enhancing human capital, strengthening social protection systems, adapting to climate change, improving literacy through the innovative Unlock Literacy program, and safeguarding children from all forms of violence.
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the strategy launch a « historic milestone » for the organization and the children of Chad. He noted that this plan represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, with a clear mission: to ensure every child in Chad not only survives but flourishes. « Our goal is simple yet bold: reach 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable, » he declared.

Chad faces formidable challenges, from entrenched poverty—affecting nearly 42% of the population—to recurring humanitarian crises and the escalating impacts of climate change. Malnutrition, underdeveloped education systems, and widespread child vulnerability remain critical issues that demand urgent action. The strategy responds by prioritizing integrated health and nutrition programs, with a sharp focus on maternal and child health; expanding access to quality education, particularly through early literacy initiatives; strengthening child protection mechanisms; and building community resilience to climate-related shocks.
In a powerful call to action, World Vision Tchad officials urged all national actors—government bodies, development partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media—to unite behind this vision. They stressed that collective mobilization is essential to turning current challenges into sustainable opportunities for the children of Chad. By leveraging this strategy, World Vision Tchad aims to contribute directly to the realization of Chad’s Vision 2030 and the global SDGs, paving the way for a future where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
