The Université de Lomé (UL) is expanding its global footprint through a new strategic alliance. On June 5, 2026, the institution formalized a cooperation agreement with Creighton University, a Jesuit academic center located in Omaha, Nebraska, in the United States.
This partnership was officially sealed by Professor Kossivi Hounaké, President of the Université de Lomé, and Reverend Father Daniel Hendrickson, President of Creighton University. Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to strengthen their ties in the fields of academic training, scientific research, and the mutual exchange of expertise.
The framework establishes a foundation for joint educational programs and research initiatives. It specifically encourages the mobility of students, faculty members, and researchers between the two institutions. Furthermore, the agreement paves the way for hosting shared scientific events, including symposiums and specialized seminars on topics of mutual interest.
Both universities have pledged to share academic resources and foster collaborative projects. The agreement includes strict provisions regarding the protection of intellectual property and the maintenance of confidentiality for all information exchanged during research activities.
A five-year commitment
This cooperation is set for an initial five-year term with the possibility of renewal, creating long-term opportunities for the entire academic community. It offers fresh perspectives for scientific growth and academic excellence.
By establishing this link with the United States, the Université de Lomé continues its strategy of international openness, solidifying its position within the global network of higher education and reinforcing its presence on the world stage.
