Could Aurélien Tchouaméni be leaving Real Madrid this summer? The 26-year-old midfielder, currently representing France in the 2026 World Cup, has frequently been linked with a departure. However, two specific factors are reportedly stalling the French international’s transfer for now.

Since arriving in the summer of 2022, Aurélien Tchouaméni’s stint at Real Madrid could come to an end this summer. While he competes in the 2026 World Cup with the French national team, rumours of his exit have intensified in recent days. Manchester United is said to be monitoring the situation closely, keen on acquiring the midfielder. Yet two main obstacles are preventing a potential move to the Red Devils.

Salary demands and real madrid’s stance

The first hurdle is Tchouaméni’s salary. His current wages are substantial, and Manchester United is not inclined to match that figure at this time. The second issue lies with Real Madrid’s position: the Spanish club has not indicated any willingness to sell. A direct call from Madrid to United offering the player is not happening, but if it did, United would be ready to explore the deal. Until then, the combination of high salary and Madrid’s closed door keeps the transfer on hold.

Real Madrid focused on new signings

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will eventually greenlight Tchouaméni’s departure. For now, the Madrid board is concentrating on strengthening the squad for José Mourinho. After pursuing Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konaté, the Merengue are unlikely to slow down. Hence, offloading Aurélien Tchouaméni is not a priority at the Casa Blanca at the moment.
