The University of Lomé (UL), Togo’s largest higher education institution, welcomes thousands of new high school graduates and continuing students each academic year. To streamline the process, the university has revamped its registration procedures with a fully digitalized system designed to simplify the experience for applicants.
Whether you’re a first-time student or returning for another year, here’s everything you need to know to complete your registration smoothly.
What you need before starting your online registration
Before logging into the university’s digital platform, ensure you have the following requirements ready:
- For first-year students (LMD 1): You must have successfully obtained your BAC 2 diploma or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Togolese Ministry of Education.
- For returning students: You’ll need your Matricule UL (student ID number) and proof of having completed the previous academic year or met progression criteria.
- A valid email address and phone number: These are essential for account creation and receiving important notifications throughout the process.
- Electronic payment options: Accepted methods include Flooz (T-Money/Moov Money) mobile wallets or an activated bank card for covering application and tuition fees.
How to register online: a clear step-by-step guide
The entire registration process is now handled through the university’s official digital portal. Access the platform via daas.univ-lome.tg or the dedicated RESUP system.
1. Create your account and complete pre-registration:
Visit the Directorate of Academic Affairs and Scholarships (DAAS) website. Set up your student profile by entering personal details, your BAC scores, and selecting your preferred academic path—whether it’s a Faculty, School, or Institute.
2. Upload required supporting documents:
Digitally scan and submit the necessary documents in PDF or JPG format. This includes a valid ID, BAC 2 certificate, birth certificate, and a recent passport-sized photo.
3. Pay your tuition and registration fees:
Complete the payment using authorized channels, such as partner banks like Ecobank or BTCI/IB Bank, or through integrated mobile payment solutions.
4. Receive administrative validation and your quitus:
Once your payment is confirmed, the DAAS team reviews your application. Upon approval, you can download your quitus d’inscription (registration clearance) directly from your personal portal.
5. Undergo a medical check-up and collect your student card:
Visit the University Medical Center of Lomé (CMUL) for the mandatory health screening. After passing, collect your biometric student card from the designated counter.
Essential documents to keep for final verification
While the pre-registration is fully online, students must retain the original physical copies of their documents for academic and examination purposes. Make sure you have:
- A certified copy of your birth certificate.
- A certified copy of your Togolese nationality certificate (for nationals) or your passport/residence permit (for international students).
- The original or certified copy of your BAC 2 certificate.
- Academic transcripts from Grades 10, 11, and 12.
- A printed copy of your registration form from the UL portal.
- Bank or electronic payment receipts as proof of fee payment.
Pro tip: Always adhere to the deadlines published by the DAAS. Late submissions often result in penalties or automatic rejection. To avoid last-minute server congestion, begin your registration as soon as the portal opens.
