The Office National pour l’Organisation du Pèlerinage (ORGEP) has issued a critical advisory to Chadian pilgrims set to embark on the Hadj 2026, outlining strict safety and discipline protocols mandated by Saudi Arabian authorities.
Key directives for a safe and disciplined pilgrimage
In a follow-up to the international conference on the Hadj held in Jeddah on May 20, 2026, the ORGEP emphasized the following regulations to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage:
Prohibited activities
- No political or partisan religious discussions are permitted in hotels or the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
- Any form of political gatherings or meetings is strictly forbidden at these locations.
- Unauthorized visitors are not allowed in pilgrim accommodations or ritual sites.
Health and safety precautions
Given the extreme heat in Saudi Arabia, authorities advise pilgrims to:
- Avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to minimize health risks.
- Refrain from prolonged walks between ritual locations to conserve energy and avoid physical strain.
Special provisions for vulnerable pilgrims
Pilgrims who are elderly, ill, or physically challenged may delegate the stoning of the pillars (Djamarat) to a designated representative.
Emergency response
In case of emergencies, pilgrims are instructed to contact the Saudi Arabian emergency hotline: 1966 for immediate assistance.
The ORGEP underscores the importance of adhering to these guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of all Chadian pilgrims during the Hadj 2026.
