The leader of Pastef, Ousmane Sonko, has issued a firm directive to his followers, urging them to stop using derogatory nicknames and insults against state officials. He characterized these actions as counterproductive, advocating instead for a political environment centered entirely on substantive ideas and policy frameworks.
Addressing a large crowd at the Dakar Arena, the head of the Patriotes called for restraint, warning his supporters not to fall into the trap of verbal provocation. According to Ousmane Sonko, such mockery is often used as a pretext to trigger legal proceedings and justify the detention of activists. He encouraged the youth and party sympathizers to raise the standard of political engagement by focusing on constructive dialogue and the party’s vision for the country.
Setting a new strategic course, the President of the National Assembly instructed his base to prioritize grassroots mobilization. He invited them to travel throughout Sénégal to broaden the party’s reach and solidify its foundations. Additionally, he emphasized the critical need for political and intellectual training for all members to strengthen the party’s commitment to republican values and long-term organizational stability.
