The Moroccan Attorney General to the King at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Balaoui, conducted a working session on Thursday, July 9, in Rabat with Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. This meeting was part of an official visit aimed at exploring Morocco’s expertise in preventing and combating corruption.
Strengthening legal and institutional frameworks against corruption
During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui highlighted Morocco’s key anti-corruption strategies, emphasizing the country’s robust legal and institutional framework. He also outlined the public prosecution’s strategic approach to tackling corruption cases, particularly through coordinated penal policies.
Exchanging best practices in corruption prevention
The session provided an opportunity to compare anti-corruption methodologies, with a focus on practical implementation. Both sides reviewed the most effective measures in detecting, investigating, and prosecuting corrupt acts, fostering a deeper understanding of shared challenges and solutions.
Digital tools to empower citizens in reporting corruption
The Chadian delegation gained firsthand insights into several initiatives spearheaded by Morocco’s Public Prosecution. Among these was a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and embezzlement, as well as the digital platform e-TABLIGH. This secure online tool enables citizens to report suspected corruption cases anonymously, leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies to ensure confidentiality and swift processing.
