Morocco joins gaza stabilization force with new humanitarian mission

Rabat takes decisive step to reinforce peace efforts in Gaza as the Kingdom joins the International Stabilization Force (ISF).

The historic agreement was formalized in Rabat, following direct instructions from His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Chair of the Al Qods Committee. The signing ceremony was led by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Delegated Minister for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi, alongside top military officials, with Nickolay Mladenov, Special Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, leading the international delegation.

humanitarian and security commitments take shape

In an official statement from the National Defense Administration, the agreement underscores Morocco’s founding role in the Gaza Peace Council, aligning with the King’s vision outlined during the inaugural meeting in Washington. The Kingdom’s participation reflects its unwavering commitment to international peace, cooperation, and solidarity.

Moroccan authorities highlighted the FAR’s extensive experience in United Nations peacekeeping missions, emphasizing the country’s long-standing dedication to regional and global stability. The delegation from the Gaza Peace Council praised Morocco’s contributions, which include:

  • Deploying senior FAR officers to the ISF joint command structure;
  • Providing personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and National Security Directorate (DGSN);
  • Setting up a mobile military field hospital.

The signed accord establishes the legal and operational framework for Morocco’s involvement, demonstrating a shared resolve to restore peace and security in Gaza through humanitarian and security initiatives.
