Assalé Tiémoko Antoine, who leads the political movement Aujourd’hui et Demain, la Côte d’Ivoire (Adci), has received a summons to appear before the senior investigating judge at the Tribunal de première instance d’Abidjan. This development pertains to an ongoing legal matter involving the prominent political figure.

The notification of this judicial action was conveyed publicly through an official communiqué from Adci’s National Executive Bureau, bearing the signature of its executive secretary, Roger Youan.

Reports indicate that the Abidjan Police Prefecture informed Assalé Tiémoko Antoine’s legal counsel on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, about the arrival of the summons intended for their client. Upon learning of the situation, the deputy-mayor personally went to the Police Prefecture premises, where he formally received the summons and acknowledged its receipt by signing a procedural document.

The official document specifies that the Adci president is required to present himself on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 8 AM, before the senior investigating judge overseeing the 8th investigation cabinet of the Tribunal de première instance d’Abidjan.

In its communication, Adci highlighted that this summons follows closely on the heels of an incident that occurred on the evening of May 11, 2026. On that occasion, its president was reportedly prevented from boarding a flight destined for Canada, a situation the political movement claims transpired “without the presentation of any official document.”

In response to these events, Adci has called upon its members and supporters to maintain “calm, serenity, and mobilization.” The party further encouraged them to continue their efforts in establishing the movement’s presence across the national territory and internationally.

The party also disclosed that prior to receiving this formal summons, Assalé Tiémoko Antoine had already dispatched a letter to the public prosecutor, seeking “clarifications regarding his legal status.”

This latest legal proceeding unfolds within a charged political climate, characterized by the Adci president’s significant media presence, especially after his recent declaration as a candidate for the 2028 municipal elections in the commune of Cocody.
