The President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, expressed his satisfaction with the record-breaking financial mobilization achieved for the country’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030. Speaking on Friday, July 10, 2026, he highlighted the international community’s unwavering confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience, strategic credibility, and developmental prospects.
The announcement came at the close of the High-Level Consultative Group meeting held in Abidjan on July 8-9, 2026. More than 2,000 investors from 49 countries participated, including top representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business associations, public and private enterprises, and key development partners.
During the two-day event, commitments totaling 80 billion US dollars—equivalent to 47,820 billion F CFA—were secured. This far exceeds the initially targeted 11,138.2 billion F CFA, representing nearly four times the expected funding.
The PND 2026-2030 outlines a bold vision: “Building a Great Nation that is stable, ambitious, and united.” With a projected total investment of 114,838.5 billion F CFA (approximately 209 billion US dollars) over five years, the private sector is expected to drive 70.2% of this growth, serving as the backbone of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic and social transformation.
The plan prioritizes six key areas: peace, security, and stability; agriculture and agro-industry; private sector development and industrialization; human capital; strategic infrastructure; and good governance alongside state modernization. These pillars aim to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, with a per capita GDP of $4,500 and a poverty rate below 20%.
President Ouattara emphasized the government’s role in translating this financial backing into tangible benefits for all Ivorians. His vision includes more schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, and shared prosperity, ensuring every community reaps the rewards of progress.
In his closing remarks, he urged the nation to move forward “with confidence, determination, and unity” to build an even more prosperous and cohesive Côte d’Ivoire.
