Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara expressed his satisfaction with the unprecedented financial mobilization achieved during the Consultative Group meeting for the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030, held in Abidjan on July 8-9, 2026. The event brought together over 2,000 investors from 49 countries, representing financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business associations, public and private enterprises, as well as key development partners.

Unprecedented financial commitments

At the conclusion of the two-day discussions, financial pledges totaled $80 billion (47,820 billion F CFA), far exceeding the initial target of 11,138.2 billion F CFA—nearly four times the original funding goal. This overwhelming support underscores the confidence placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic fundamentals, strategic vision, and development prospects.

Ambitious economic transformation goals

The NDP 2026-2030 outlines a clear vision: Building a Great Nation that is stable, ambitious, and united. With a total investment volume of 114,838.5 billion F CFA (approximately $209 billion) over five years, 70.2% of funding will come from the private sector, positioning it as the driving force behind the country’s economic and social transformation. Ivorian businesses will play a central role in executing this plan.

Six strategic priorities

The NDP 2026-2030 is structured around six key priorities:

  • Peace, security, and stability – Ensuring a safe environment for growth and investment.
  • Agriculture and agro-industry – Boosting productivity and value addition in the agricultural sector.
  • Private sector development and industrialization – Fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and industrial growth.
  • Human capital – Investing in education, healthcare, and skills development.
  • Strategic infrastructure – Expanding roads, energy, and digital networks to connect communities and markets.
  • Good governance and state modernization – Strengthening institutions, transparency, and public service efficiency.

Economic milestones to achieve by 2030

To elevate Côte d’Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, ambitious macroeconomic targets have been set, including:

  • A GDP per capita of $4,500.
  • A poverty rate reduced to below 20%.

President Ouattara emphasized that the state’s responsibility now lies in translating these financial commitments into tangible outcomes—more schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, and shared prosperity—for every Ivorian citizen.

« Together, with confidence, determination, and unity, we will continue building a Côte d’Ivoire that is ever more prosperous and united. »
