The unshakable bond between Burkina Faso and Italy took center stage as both nations marked the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic. The commemorative gathering, hosted by the Italian Embassy in Ouagadougou on the evening of June 2, 2026, brought together high-ranking Burkinabè officials, diplomatic corps members, and Italian nationals.
Representing Burkina Faso’s government was the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bêbgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré. The event was a blend of reflection, camaraderie, and celebration of the deep-rooted historical ties that bind the two countries.

During the ceremony, Italy’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Gabriele Di Muzio, highlighted the strength of bilateral cooperation, particularly through initiatives led by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
