A sweeping circular has been dispatched to security and judicial officials, reinforcing the urgency of the situation and outlining mandatory measures to address this scourge.

Human trafficking represents a severe breach of human rights, frequently involving sexual exploitation and forced labor. Since ratifying the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime in 2009, Chad has enacted robust legal frameworks, including Ordinance No. 006/PR/2018 and Law No. 12/PR/2018, to combat this crime.

Systematic enforcement and data-driven action

Under the new directives, authorities are required to conduct prompt investigations, compile detailed reports, and ensure cases are forwarded to the appropriate courts without delay. All reports must be submitted to the Secrétariat Général du Ministère de la Justice and the National Commission Against Human Trafficking for rigorous follow-up.

Provincial oversight and national strategy

Provincial delegates have been tasked with enforcing these measures strictly, ensuring consistent compliance across Chad. The initiative aims to establish a comprehensive national database, laying the groundwork for a more effective anti-trafficking policy nationwide.
