Borussia Dortmund have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani. The 23-year-old Kosovo international is set to join the Bundesliga giants for a fee of €30 million, triggered by a performance-based release clause in his contract, which runs until 2029. Asllani enjoyed a breakthrough season with 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 competitive appearances, establishing himself as one of the most sought-after attackers in the league.
What does this mean for Guirassy and Adeyemi?
The imminent arrival of Asllani is expected to intensify the offensive overhaul at Borussia Dortmund. With another top-class forward joining the ranks, departures appear likely. Senegalese striker Serhou Guirassy, who has netted 60 goals and provided 15 assists in 96 matches since 2024, is at the centre of speculation. Despite rumours of a move to Fenerbahçe, his brother and advisor has denied any agreement, stating that Guirassy is evaluating his options and will likely decide after the World Cup. Dortmund have presented a long-term project to retain him.
Karim Adeyemi’s uncertain future
Karim Adeyemi enters the final year of his contract next season. The 24-year-old is demanding a significant pay rise from his current €6.5 million annual salary to over €10 million, along with a release clause. However, Borussia Dortmund are hesitant to meet his demands given his inconsistent form. Under coach Niko Kovac, Adeyemi has started infrequently, averaging just 42 minutes per Bundesliga appearance and scoring only four goals in all competitions in 2026. If no extension is reached, Adeyemi could leave on a free transfer in 2027.
