According to the deputy, the former Prime Minister allegedly made highly critical remarks about Bassirou Diomaye Faye during this call.
During a press briefing hosted by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba unveiled what he asserts to be the definitive account of telephone conversations purportedly held between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré when the current Prime Minister was in detention. This disclosure adds another layer to his continued defense of the government head amidst ongoing scrutiny over public fund management.
According to the parliamentarian, the former Prime Minister reportedly expressed sharp criticism of Bassirou Diomaye Faye during this specific phone exchange. “Diomaye is incapable of leading this country. If you leave him here, he will not last two years,” she allegedly conveyed to Ousmane Sonko, as recounted by Amadou Ba.
Ba finds these alleged remarks difficult to reconcile with Aminata Touré’s current political stance, accusing her of attempting to “alter history” and reinterpret past events to suit the evolving political landscape.
Amidst the intense verbal exchanges now characterizing the two factions, Amadou Ba urged calm, advocating for restraint over escalation. “He is pushing us towards violence, and we will not succumb,” he affirmed, reiterating Pastef’s dedication to fostering political dialogue rather than engaging in direct confrontation.
