
The Vietnamese National Assembly delegation recently participated in the solemn opening of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly’s (APF) General Assembly in Yaoundé, Cameroon. This significant international event commenced on July 9th, drawing together prominent figures and delegates from across the Francophone world.
The distinguished gathering saw the presence of high-ranking Cameroonian officials, including the President of the Cameroonian Senate, the President of the Cameroonian National Assembly, and the President of the Cameroonian Economic and Social Council. Louise Mushikiwabo, the Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), also attended, alongside a multitude of esteemed guests.

With over 350 delegates, including nearly 20 presidents and vice-presidents from APF member parliaments, representatives from OIF, diplomatic missions, and various international organizations, the 51st General Assembly focused on critical global issues. Discussions centered on priority areas such as political developments, democratic principles, economic strategies, social affairs, cultural exchange, and environmental sustainability. The assembly’s core objective was to foster stronger parliamentary cooperation and devise collective solutions to the shared challenges facing the Francophone community worldwide.
