They emphasized that any credible negotiation process must incorporate all representative voices and active forces within Sahrawi society to achieve a durable solution.

The American political counselor reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to ending the persistent stalemate in the region. He highlighted his country’s opposition to maintaining the status quo and reiterated US support for initiatives aimed at reviving the political process toward a definitive resolution.

Washington praised the Sahrawis for Peace movement as a constructive Sahrawi voice actively engaged in seeking negotiated solutions. The diplomat assured that the United States places significant importance on supporting Sahrawi factions that prioritize agreements fostering regional stability and security, thereby unlocking diplomatic pathways that have long been hindered by confrontation-driven dynamics.

This meeting follows a series of engagements between the US and the movement, including a prior delegation visit to New York for discussions with the US, French, and British permanent representatives to the United Nations.

The timing of this encounter coincides with the eve of the United Nations Security Council session dedicated to reviewing the implementation of Resolution 2797, which has garnered broad international consensus in favor of advancing a political and peaceful solution to the Western Sahara question.
