In a post-meeting statement, Minister Kayouh highlighted the historical strength of Morocco-Kuwait relations and announced plans to reactivate the direct air route between Kuwait and Casablanca. He confirmed that Royal Air Maroc is preparing to resume this vital connection once its latest long-haul aircraft fleet is operational, ensuring enhanced passenger capacity and service quality.
Preparing for 2030 FIFA World Cup tourism surge
Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Sabah underscored the significance of increasing air traffic between the two countries ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal. The anticipated rise in Gulf region tourism is expected to drive demand for stronger air connectivity, with Morocco positioned as a key gateway for international visitors.
New leadership for Arab aviation body
The assembly concluded with the election of new leadership for the Arab Civil Aviation Organization’s 2026-2028 term, including the general assembly, executive council, and technical committees. Khalid Cherkaoui was appointed as the organization’s new Director-General, marking a new chapter in regional aviation governance.
