The Ligue 1 2026-2027 calendar is finally taking shape, and Parisian clubs are already in the spotlight. The French Football League (LFP) has unveiled key fixtures, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Paris FC facing off against Olympique de Marseille in high-stakes encounters early in the season.

The championship’s defending champions, Paris Saint-Germain, will kick off their campaign at home against Stade Rennais on the weekend of August 21–23. Their opening trio of matches suggests a demanding start, with a trip to Lille in matchday two followed by a clash with AS Monaco in game three. The pressure won’t ease soon: the first international break of the season arrives in mid-September, leaving little room for complacency.

One of the season’s most anticipated fixtures, the Marseille derby, is scheduled for the fifth matchday. Paris Saint-Germain will face Olympique de Marseille at the Vélodrome on Sunday, September 20. The return leg at the Parc des Princes has been set for Sunday, February 7, 2027, ensuring this rivalry remains a focal point of the first half of the season.

The capital’s other top-flight team, Paris FC, has a slightly gentler start but no less intriguing. Their opening-day assignment takes them to newly promoted Troyes, providing an early test of their Ligue 1 mettle. They’ll then host OGC Nice at the Stade Jean-Bouin before a challenging stretch featuring trips to Marseille and Lyon, as well as a home fixture against Strasbourg—all within the first nine games. The altitude in Lyon and Strasbourg will add an extra layer of difficulty to their early-season schedule.

With the Ligue 1 2026-2027 season fast approaching, fans can already mark their calendars for these must-watch clashes. Whether it’s the star-studded clashes of PSG or Paris FC’s battle to establish themselves in the top flight, the opening weeks promise fireworks.
