Morocco enhances military capabilities with new drone fleet

The Royal Armed Forces of Morocco have significantly strengthened their aerial surveillance and strike capabilities with the official integration of Bayraktar Akıncı drones. These advanced unmanned aerial vehicles, manufactured by the Turkish company Baykar, are now active within the kingdom’s military infrastructure.

Evidence from the sixth air base located in Ben Guerir confirms that these high-tech platforms have been stationed at the facility since early last year. The arrival of the Akıncı models marks a new phase in the modernization of the national defense strategy, as they are now operating alongside the existing fleet of Bayraktar TB2 drones already in service.

The strategic deployment at the Ben Guerir base highlights Morocco‘s commitment to maintaining a sophisticated technological edge in the region. By pairing the long-endurance Akıncı with the proven TB2, the military has established a comprehensive drone ecosystem capable of conducting diverse mission profiles.
