As the 22nd World Blood Donor Day approaches on 14 June 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) in Lomé is rallying residents of the capital and its surroundings to take part in a life-saving initiative. The theme this year, « One drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives », underscores the critical role donors play in sustaining healthcare systems.
To mark the occasion, the CNTS will host a special blood collection drive on Friday, 12 June 2026, operating from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This event aims to bolster the nation’s blood reserves ahead of the global observance.

Donors in Lomé have two convenient locations to choose from:

Join the movement to save lives
The CNTS is urging the public to come forward and donate, emphasizing that a single donation can impact multiple patients in need of transfusions. Every contribution strengthens the healthcare response and supports medical emergencies across the country.
The Center highlights the power of collective solidarity, stating, « We are all connected through the act of giving ». Their call to action encourages individuals to step forward, whether for the first time or as regular donors, to ensure lifesaving blood is always available.
The CNTS expresses deep gratitude to all volunteers who participate, recognizing their vital role in this nationwide effort to improve patient outcomes and sustain the blood supply.
