Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of completing one of the most significant outgoing transfers in its history. The capital club has reached an agreement with AC Milan for Gonçalo Ramos, for a fee around €60 million. This major operation will allow PSG to record its second-biggest sale of all time, despite a slight loss: Ramos was signed permanently for €65 million after a one-season paid loan valued at €20 million, and leaves Paris without fully justifying the investment.
Only Neymar surpasses Ramos
The only player ahead of Ramos in this ranking is Neymar. Sold to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 for €90 million, the Brazilian had joined PSG six years earlier in the most expensive transfer in football history (€222 million paid to FC Barcelona). His Saudi adventure, however, was short-lived: just seven appearances, with one goal and three assists.
The €50 million barrier
Until now, no other PSG sale had crossed the symbolic €50 million threshold. That spot belonged to Manuel Ugarte, transferred to Manchester United in the final hours of the summer 2024 transfer window for €50 million, just one year after arriving from Sporting CP for €60 million. The Uruguayan midfielder has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford, despite a statistically decent first season (45 matches, 2 goals, 6 assists).
Xavi Simons and other big departures
The permanent transfer of Xavi Simons also significantly boosted PSG’s coffers. Thanks to a particularly advantageous contractual structure, PSG recovered between €50 and €80 million from the sale of the Dutch attacking midfielder to RB Leipzig, finalized in the winter of 2025. Simons later moved to Tottenham, where he became a key figure in the club’s survival.
Ronaldinho stands out as exception
Among PSG’s biggest sales, Marco Verratti (transferred to Al-Arabi for €45 million in 2023) and Gonçalo Guedes (sold to Valencia for €40 million) follow. Behind them are David Luiz (returned to Chelsea in 2016 for €35 million) and Ronaldinho, the only representative of the pre-QSI era in this top 20, sold to FC Barcelona for just over €30 million.
While the Gonçalo Ramos departure awaits official confirmation, another deal could accelerate. Lee Kang-in, under contract until 2028, retains strong market value. The South Korean international, with 50 caps and 10 goals for his country, is attracting persistent interest from Atlético Madrid, which has been closely monitoring his situation for several weeks.
