Baudelaire Ndong Ella has officially assumed his duties as Gabon’s ambassador to the United States, presenting his credentials to President Donald Trump at the White House. This marks the beginning of a mission focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Libreville and Washington through economic engagement and security cooperation.
Economic partnerships take center stage
The diplomat’s agenda prioritizes economic diplomacy, aiming to boost American investments in Gabon. Key sectors highlighted for collaboration include:
- Hydrocarbons and mining – Leveraging Gabon’s natural resources for mutual benefit
- Infrastructure development – Enhancing connectivity and trade facilitation
- Transport and tourism – Promoting Gabon as a destination for American visitors

In June 2026, Gabon welcomed a US delegation led by Christian Ehrhardt to discuss economic cooperation and Gabon’s reintegration into the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
