Five months ago, the Gabonese government suspended all social media platforms without a clear end date. Since then, the main online platforms have remained inaccessible to VPN users only. This extraordinary measure, which was initially presented as a response to the proliferation of hate speech, misinformation, and national security threats, has become increasingly puzzling. The longer it lasts, the more it resembles an administrative formula with no deadline, leaving Gabonese citizens and economic operators in a state of total uncertainty.
