I want tomorrow’s FEG to be known not only for defending businesses but especially for making them succeed.

This was the wish expressed by Alain Claude Kouakoua, president of the Gabon Federation of Enterprises (FEG), during the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Gabon Economic Forum (GEF), held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès.

This gathering brings together decision-makers and international partners as a platform aimed at addressing Gabon’s economic challenges.

Taking a pragmatic stance, the FEG president stated that no country has developed without strong businesses. For him, the company is not a peripheral player but the engine of development.

Vice-President of the Republic, Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier, emphasized the state’s understanding and support for the private sector: “The state will do its part to ensure that the cleanup of public finances allows for timely payment of what is owed to private enterprises.

This engaging speech raised a strong ambition: to build a diversified economy, less dependent on raw materials and more focused on industrialization.

The forum thus represents a robust dialogue to advance Gabon’s economic challenges and objectives.
