Abidjan, July 9, 2026 – The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, was inaugurated on Thursday at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan. The event was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who emphasized the critical role of private sector engagement in driving the nation’s economic ambitions.
« This session marks a pivotal step in our collective journey toward mobilizing private investments to fuel development and value creation, » stated the Prime Minister. « We are delighted to welcome over 700 investors from friendly nations who have joined us to explore opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire’s evolving economy. »
With business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives in attendance, the Prime Minister underscored the forum as a vital platform for fostering dialogue and aligning shared development goals. « Your commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s future reflects the confidence you place in our economic potential and growth prospects, » he remarked. « You are key partners in transforming our nation into a more competitive, job-creating economy. The success of this vision hinges on your willingness to invest. »
The government has positioned the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. Highlighting the nation’s economic resilience, the Prime Minister noted the country’s impressive average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, reinforcing its status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies despite global challenges.
« This is an economy in full expansion, » he declared. « Today’s discussions will fast-track investments in priority sectors of the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost added value, and strategic infrastructure development—transport, digital technology, and logistics—to enhance competitiveness and appeal. Additionally, we will focus on human capital investment, innovation, and essential services to cultivate a more productive and inclusive economy. »
The first day of the forum, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including the nation itself.
Speaking on behalf of investors, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi, President of the Africa Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision. They expressed readiness to play a significant role in implementing the PND 2026-2030 through substantial financial commitments.
