Côte d’Ivoire: JOURIE 2026 launches to revolutionize education through digital innovation
Abidjan, July 21, 2026 — The Open Days for Research and Innovation in Education (JOURIE 2026) kicked off today at the National Higher School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSEA) in Abidjan. Organized by the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training (MENAET), the event centers on the theme: “Reinventing education through digital excellence: sustainable solutions for world-class learning.”
Running through July 22, 2026, these sessions are designed to champion research-driven solutions and cutting-edge pedagogical innovations, with a laser focus on leveraging digital tools to elevate the quality of education across Côte d’Ivoire.
Dr. Inza Meité, Director of Studies, Planning and Statistics (DESPS), emphasized that JOURIE 2026 serves as a dynamic platform for collective inquiry into how scientific research and technological breakthroughs can reshape schools, colleges, high schools, and universities. He noted that the gathering underscores the ministry’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic findings and policy decisions, ensuring that educational reforms are rooted in robust data and rigorous analysis.
“This year’s JOURIE is more than a conference—it’s a catalyst for action,” Dr. Meité stated. “It’s a chance to showcase groundbreaking research, exchange hands-on experiments, unveil transformative tech solutions, tackle systemic challenges, and foster collaboration among researchers, educators, policymakers, and innovators.”
The DESPS director also reaffirmed the ministry’s vision to harness digital technology as a cornerstone for quality, equity, and efficiency in education. He highlighted that this edition embodies the broader goal of making science, innovation, and digital tools accessible to all, fostering an inclusive learning environment that leaves no student behind.
N’Guessan Koffi, the minister’s technical advisor, officially inaugurated the event on behalf of the MENAET leadership. He stressed that JOURIE 2026 aligns with the government’s strategic push to ground educational reforms in evidence-based practices and international benchmarks. He described the theme as a testament to the belief that digital technology is not merely an accessory but a strategic enabler—one that accelerates progress and unlocks opportunities to build a more equitable, inclusive, and high-performing Ivorian school system.
Kouadio Kouman underscored that the summit provides a unique forum for stakeholders—including researchers, teachers, entrepreneurs, public officials, technical partners, financial backers, and other education stakeholders—to explore how digital innovation can address critical issues in governance, training, infrastructure, and inclusion.
