In the embattled Lac Province, where recent Boko Haram attacks have left communities reeling, women have taken a bold stand by uniting behind the security forces. On Friday, May 22, 2026, members of the Provincial Women’s Network in Baga-Sola demonstrated unwavering support for the country’s defense and security agencies while urging collective action against the terrorist threat.

The delegation, led by the Provincial Women’s Network president, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, met with the Government Delegate for Lac Province, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, at the Baga-Sola headquarters. Their mission was clear: to reinforce moral, logistical, and material backing for the troops fighting Boko Haram.

Speaking on behalf of the women of Lac Province, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye commended the tireless efforts of both military and civilian authorities in curbing insecurity and safeguarding stability. She unequivocally condemned the recent terrorist assaults that claimed the lives of security personnel, offering heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire nation.

To solidify their pledge of solidarity, the women’s delegation presented a consignment of food supplies to the frontline forces actively engaged in counter-insurgency operations.

General Saleh Haggar Tidjani praised the initiative as a powerful display of patriotism, underscoring the indispensable role women play in fostering community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism.
