Bénin: electoral commission officials in India for AI training on elections

A delegation of senior personnel from Bénin’s National Autonomous Electoral Commission (CENA) is currently participating in an international training program in New Delhi, India. From July 6 to 10, 2026, these officials are immersing themselves in the practical applications of artificial intelligence within electoral processes.

CENA du Bénin

This specialized session, orchestrated by the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) as part of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) initiative, aims to significantly enhance the capabilities of electoral administrators regarding the practical deployment of AI in the organization and management of elections.

Throughout the intensive program, participants are delving into various critical areas. These include the strategic use of artificial intelligence in electoral administration, principles of digital governance, addressing ethical considerations, safeguarding human rights, implementing robust cybersecurity measures, effective risk management, and understanding the legal frameworks governing the adoption of these advanced technologies.

The comprehensive agenda features insightful conferences, real-world case studies, hands-on practical demonstrations, engaging interactive workshops, and valuable experience-sharing sessions with leading experts and representatives from electoral bodies across several nations.

For Bénin’s CENA, this initiative represents a crucial component of its strategic vision for modernizing its electoral administration. The training is designed to equip the institution for the evolving challenges presented by digital transformation and to foster electoral procedures that are more transparent, efficient, and secure through cutting-edge technological innovations.
